Salt water, chlorinated water, UV radiation and sun cream - this is a vicious mixture when combined, which is extremely stressful on any material. UV Standard 801
According to experts’ opinion textiles provide the best sun protection. However you can neither feel nor see the quality of the protection. Wear, stretching and humidity can significantly reduce the UV protection of textiles. In order to be able to guarantee a high, long lasting, reliable protection factor, all sun protection textiles must pass the examinations of the strictest UV protection test worldwide, the UV Standard 801. The defined UV protection factor (UPF) relates to both UVA and UVB radiation and in contrast to all other UV standards applies to all conditions of wear and is long lasting. Thanks to FREDS SWIM ACADEMY clothing with Protect 80 even a light skinned person (self protection time of skin 5-10 mins - the sun time duration can be calculated by multiplying the UPF value with the self-protection time) can stay in the sun for a whole day and be safely protected. |
